Introduction of the "Outstanding engineers training plan" of Thermal Energy and Power Engineering of Southeast University

Remarkable thermal energy and power engineer program aims to train the senior personnel mainly to be engaged in scientific research, engineering design, technology development and technical and economic management and other work in the fields of energy and power engineering, they are excellent engineers of innovation spirit who are able to track the new theory and new technologies in the field, and can adapt to the national economic and social development.

 

According to the spirit of the "outstanding engineers training" of the Ministry of Education, the School of Energy and Environment of Southeast University takes fostering energy and environmental type r&d engineer as the principal thing, combined with the demand of our country for qualified personnel of energy and the environment, we regard cultivating postgraduate level of "r&d engineers" in the field of energy and environment as our goal, using the "4 + 2" pattern: the first four years are learning phase for undergraduate, the latter two years are learning phase for graduate. Teaching implementation adopts the "3 + 1 + 1 + 1" modular structure, a detailed description is as follows:

 

"3" : preceding the undergraduate study at school, and is the same module as the first 3 years of undergraduates major in Thermal Energy and Power Engineering.

 

 "1": At the senior stage, undergraduate are required to go to the electric power industry to practice for one year, participate in the software project development of enterprise, and complete the undergraduate thesis design under the guidance of teacher at school and enterprise mentors. The purpose of enterprise practice at this stage is to make students understand the enterprise, understand the actual process of software development, deepen the understanding of software engineering, understand the demand of choosing and employing persons of enterprise, further clarify their learning goals and directions in the future.

 

This stage proceeds all in the enterprises, complete part of the courses, and the undergraduate course graduation design work. According to the situation, graduation reply can be arranged in the enterprise.

 

The selection of postgraduate is conducted in the senior, students who are willing to continue to study for a master's degree and are eligible for the conditions of postgraduate recommendation, will directly enter graduate student stage to continue to learn after undergraduate graduation.

 

"1": students stepped into the stage of graduate study for one year course of postgraduate at school;

 

"1": after completing the master graduate student course credits of the professional provisions, students are required to go to the electric power industry to practice for one year. This phase is the stage of graduate student internship and master thesis phase, during this period, students participate in the software project research and development of enterprise, and using the research and development projects as their master's thesis topics, the guidance of the master thesis adopts double tutorial system, and complete the master's thesis under the guidance of the on-campus mentor and off-campus mentor teacher.

 

In principle, the stages of Master of Engineering and Bachelor are proceeded in different enterprises, aiming at making students understand and be familiar with different cultural background and operation mode of the enterprise, training students' ability to adapt to different environment.
