
On April 13, 2026, the 2026 International Symposium on High-Temperature Heat Pump Technology and Application Expansion, themed Focusing on High-Temperature Heat Pump Technology Innovation · Promoting the Collaborative Development of International Standards, was successfully held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. As a key concurrent event of the 2026 China Refrigeration Expo, the symposium was co-hosted by the Chinese Association of Refrigeration and Southeast University, attracting representatives from universities, research institutes, enterprises and industry organizations at home and abroad.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Researcher Liu Jian from Southeast University. Professor Zhang Xiaosong, Chief Professor of Southeast University and Director of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Energy Saving of Low-Carbon Building Environment Equipment and Systems, and Li Xiaohu, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Chinese Association of Refrigeration, delivered welcome speeches respectively, emphasizing the vital role of high-temperature heat pump technology in energy conservation and carbon reduction.
The keynote report session was divided into morning and afternoon parts.Chaired by Professor Lin Zhang from City University of Hong Kong and Professor Jinping Liu from South China University of Technology, the morning session focused on research progress in key technologies of high-temperature heat pumps. Experts from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Southeast University, Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Gree Electric Appliances and other institutions shared cutting-edge achievements covering trans-critical CO₂ heat pumps, high-temperature industrial steam units, low-GWP refrigerants, screw compressors and more.
The afternoon session, themed industrial applications and standardization, was co-chaired by Professor Huanxin Chen from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Professor Zhao Yang from Tianjin University. Experts from Hefei General Machinery Research Institute, International Energy Efficient Electrical Organization, Bureau of Energy Efficiency of India and other organizations exchanged views on testing standards, market policies, high-temperature scroll compressors and other topics. Experts from countries along the Belt and Road also shared policy and practical experience.
This symposium has built a high-level international exchange platform for the high-temperature heat pump sector, boosting the green and low-carbon transformation of the industry.
