I. Training Objectives

This major aims to equip the graduates with comprehensive and coordinated development of knowledge, capability, quality, the knowledge concerning water supply and drainage as well as water, gas, solid waste pollution prevention in cities and towns. Graduates can cope with plan, design, construct, manage, educate, research and develop in government departments, planning departments, economic management departments, environmental protection departments, design institutes, industrial and mining enterprises, research institutes, schools, etc.

 

II. Basic requirements

Graduates should master the basic theory of natural science, humanities and engineering technology, the systematic professional knowledge and practical ability. Furthermore, graduates should be qualified in planning, designing, constructing, managing, teaching and researching in the area of environmental engineering.

 

III. Knowledge, ability and quality the graduates should acquire

Students should master basic theory of natural science, humanities, sociology and have the ability of foreign language expressions. Moreover, students should  master the necessary chemistry, microbiology, fluid mechanics, basic knowledge and basic skills of computer application technology, the basic theory and design method of water pollution control engineering, air pollution control engineering, solid waste disposal and resource engineering. The undergraduate studies are proposed to develop students’ self-learning ability, active learning ability, analysis and generalization capability, as well as the ability to obtain information from different ways. Graduates should have good oral and literal communication ability, can concisely express themselves in summary, designing report and papers, and have speech ability. Moreover, graduates should have strong practical ability, experienced experimental skills and comprehensive ability of engineering design, have preliminary research capabilities.

X. Graduation credit and GPA requirements

According to credit management and bachelor's degree awarded regulations of Southeast University, the minimum 150 credits are required to graduate. Under the condition of graduation requirements, if qualified on Southeast University English Language Learning Standards and Grade Point Average≥ 2.0, a bachelor's degree in engineering can be granted.
