The direction assumes the lead of "the 11th five-year" and "the 12th five-year", the two consecutive national science and technology support plan program, in the light of the characteristics that the level of urbanization is high and the energy consumption of building is great  in hot summer and cold winter area. It emphatically develops the theory, method and technology research of new type of air-conditioning system, control and optimization of building energy system, the use of building renewable energy, IAQ and the control of building environment, the construction of artificial environment. It has been authorized more than 40 national invention patents and more than 40 SCI papers has been published in high level international Journal as Energy and Buildings. It has awarded the second provincial and ministerial level prize for 2 items, the third prize for 2 items. It Improves building energy-saving standard in the area with hot summer and cold winter and even the nationwide, making due contributions to China's energy saving and emission reduction.

 

Our institution has already obtained some important research achievements. Such as:

●New type of air conditioning system

With the funding of many projects as National Natural Science Foundation, Southeast University has carried out the method and systematic research of classification and piecewise on the utilization of air conditioning cold quantity. It also has offered a variety of implementation model for the independent processing on heat and humidity of air conditioning method, solving the problem that the need of summer’s air-conditioning dehumidification is high in hot summer and cold winter area and reducing the energy consumption of air conditioning system. The related results " the ‘R & D’ of new energy-saving air-conditioning system based on solution independent dehumidification has picked up the second Jiangsu provincial scientific and technological progress prize , " efficient, Energy-saving,  full working  industrial air processing unit with cylinder type " the third  Jiangsu provincial scientific and technological progress prize.

 

●System control and optimization operation for energy use in buildings

Southeast University has lunches  the optimization operation of building heating and cooling system, monitoring and control on building energy consumption, performance monitoring and diagnostic evaluation of air conditioning system,  the shading and insulation of building envelope and many other the key technology researches of energy-saving building .Developed technology and product has been large-scale applications, playing a great role in promoting the level of building energy-saving technology in the area with hot summer and cold winter and even the nationwide.

 

● Utilization of renewable energy in buildings

With the funding of the national science and technology support program, 863 programs and National Natural Science Foundation and other project, Southeast University has further carried out many technical researches as solar high-efficiency heat collection, the storage of solar energy with high density, efficient system of ground source heat pump. It has developed a variety of heat pump system compound heat source with solar and air, the technology and equipment of Solar panel heat collecting with pressure bearing type, the technology and device of building integrated solar energy efficient collection and Solar photovoltaic / thermal composite utilization device, which solves the discontinuous and instability problem of renewable energy utilization and enhances the utilization level of reproducible resources in buildings. The related result "building integrated solar photovoltaic thermal hybrid system and its key technological research and application" has picked up the second Jiangsu provincial scientific and technological progress prize.

 

●IAQ and the control technology of building environment

With the funding of s National Natural Science Foundation, Southeast University has lunches the technological research of the quality of indoor air, aerosol, natural and mechanical ventilation (the model of multiply zone, the phenomenon of multiply solution), and the communication mechanism and engineering control of  airborne disease.

 

●Construction technology of artificial environment

Southeast University has carried out the research on foundation and applied Development of Construction technology of artificial environment. It also has developed the artificial environment with high precision requirements, achieving the integration and innovation of relevant technology. Developed the testing system of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, the performance testing system of building glass curtain wall , test environment with constant temperature and humidity and many other Construction technology of artificial environment has achieved industrialization. That technology has been widely used in large enterprises, institutions, research institutes of colleges and universities, producing favorable economic and social benefits.

 

Currently the focuses of research are as including follows:

(1) New air conditioning system (the independent processing on heat and humidity, the segmented processing on heat and humidity, new energy storage air conditioning);

(2) Control and optimization of building energy system  (the optimization of building heating and cooling system, the  monitoring, diagnosis, control and evaluation of building energy consumption, the shading and insulation of building envelope etc.);

(3) Technology of the use of building renewable energy (solar high-efficiency heat collection, the storage of solar energy with high density, efficient system of ground source heat pump;

(4) IAQ and the control technology of building environment (the control of indoor pollutant, natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation etc.);

(5)Construction technology of artificial environment (the artificial environmental Construction with high precision requirements, the  performance test of building environment and equipment ).
