SEU Energy and Environment Research Complex on Jiulonghu Campus Capped

In the morning of Oct 20th, the main structure of the Southeast University Energy and Environment Research Complex on the Jiulonghu Campus was capped. Vice President Ding Hui of Southeast University, Board Chair Liu Guoyao and President Hu Ximei of Nanjing SCIYON Group, the Capital Construction Office and Development Council leaders, School of Energy and Environment Party Secretary Cai Liang, Dean Xiao Rui, and representatives of teachers and students attended to witness the construction progress. With the last cement pouring, the Energy and Environment Research Complex finished the capping of its main structure and started the stage of secondary structure, curtain wall construction, and inner decoration, which is expected to complete in June 2021.

The Energy and Environment Research Complex is a new modern experimental education complex on the Jiulonghu Campus of Southeast University. It is located to the west of the Mechanical Power Experimental Building and south of the Industrial Development and Training Center. The complex has a total area of 38.7 thousand square meters and a height of 57 meters, and is composed of two high-rises and a podium building on the west. The north high-rise has 14 floors above ground while the south one has 9, and the west podium building is 3 stories tall. The underground area is about 7300 square meters.

This is a key construction project of the “Double First-Class” Initiative, and has received generous support and donation from Mr. Liu Guoyao and Ms. Hu Ximei. The new complex will significantly improve the learning and working environment of the teachers and the students of the school, and greatly promote the two first-level discipline, Power Engineering and Engineering Thermo-physics and Environmental Science and Engineering, and bring new opportunities to the school’s development.
